PAR Timber Boards FAQs

PAR stands for Planed All Round, which means the timber has been machined smooth on all four sides. This creates a clean, even surface that’s ready for finishing, painting, or staining — ideal for interior joinery, furniture making, and decorative applications.

Solid Oak PAR Timber Boards are extremely versatile and can be used for a wide range of joinery and interior projects, including shelving, window boards, bespoke furniture, cabinetry, skirting boards, and stair components. Their smooth finish and natural grain make them perfect for both traditional and contemporary interiors.

While our oak PAR boards are perfectly smooth and ready to use, applying a protective oil, wax, or lacquer is recommended. This helps enhance the oak’s natural tones, protect the surface from moisture, and extend the life of the timber. Finishing also deepens the colour and highlights the beautiful grain of the oak.

Yes. All our Solid Oak PAR Timber Boards are sourced from sustainably managed European forests, ensuring responsible forestry practices and consistent quality. Each board is carefully selected for its strength, character, and visual appeal, reflecting our commitment to ethical and environmentally conscious craftsmanship.

Our oak PAR timber boards come in a variety of standard thicknesses, widths, and lengths to suit different joinery needs. Bespoke sizes can also be cut to order, allowing you to achieve a perfect fit for your specific project. Please contact our team for custom sizing or trade enquiries.
