Our solid oak window boards are both stylish and functional

Window boards are fantastic for concealing reveals at the base of a window. External walls are much thicker than windows. Windows are fitted flush with the outside of the wall, often resulting in an unsightly reveal around the window. Window boards, if fitted correctly, can be used to cover this gap.

We offer solid oak window boards in bullnose and square edge styles. The bullnose solid oak window boards, which feature a curved edge, are a great choice for homes with young children. For a crisper look, try ordering a square edge window board. Solid oak window boards FAQs

Oak is an extremely versatile material. It is built to last and requires little maintenance. With a unique grain, oak is stylish and timeless and can be customised to suit any home. A fantastic investment, solid oak can be painted or coated to complement existing colour schemes. Oak has an attractive and prominent grain, making it a great material for staining. Each piece of oak is unique, with variations in knots and grain patterns.

Solid oak requires little maintenance. Our solid oak window boards arrive unfinished, so must be stained, painted or treated prior to installation. Finishing the wood alters its texture and look. A high-quality finish makes the surface look shiny and emphasises dimension. When the finish is applied, the wood becomes smooth to the touch. After finishing, we recommend letting the window board dry for at least 24 hours. Use a cloth to gently dust the surface of the board, or a damp cloth to remove any stains.

All window boards feature three dimensions - width, depth and length. To measure the width of the window board, note the measurement from the window to the wall edge. For the length, measure the length of the window, adding in any overhang.

With proper care and maintenance, Solid Oak Window Boards can last for many years, making them a durable and long-lasting investment for your home or property.

Yes, Solid Oak Window Boards can be used for both interior and exterior applications, but it's essential to choose boards specifically designed for outdoor use to ensure longevity and weather resistance.
