With everything in one list, it helps to narrow by the practical question before the visual one. Three things decide it: whether the room has underfloor heating, how wet it gets, and how much traffic it takes. Once those are settled you can choose on looks alone, and the filters will do the rest.

Our flooring by type page goes into each in more depth. In short: engineered oak is the most versatile, solid oak the most traditional, vinyl the only waterproof option, and laminate the most scratch-resistant.
Filter by wear layer if the room is busy
The wear layer is the depth of real oak above the core, and it decides how many times a floor can be sanded over its life. 3mm suits most rooms. For hallways, kitchens and anywhere with heavy traffic, filter to 4mm and above.
Pattern changes a room as much as colour
Straight plank is the traditional layout and the most forgiving to fit. Herringbone is the classic zigzag parquet and suits period and modern rooms equally. Chevron meets in a continuous point and draws the eye down a long room. Versailles panels are the most decorative floor we sell, and need real floor area to read properly.
Patterned floors need a 15% allowance for cuts rather than the usual 10%, and are generally bonded to the subfloor rather than floated.
Board width
Width changes the character of a floor more than most people expect, and it is worth thinking about before colour. Wide boards show more grain in each plank and read as contemporary, suiting larger and open-plan rooms. Narrower boards give a busier, more traditional floor that works well in smaller spaces and period properties.
Engineered construction is what makes the widest boards possible, since solid oak cannot be milled as wide without excessive movement.
Colour is the hardest thing to judge on a screen
Every floor shifts with the light falling on it, and greys shift more than most. Order a free sample, lay it flat in the room it is destined for, and look at it in the morning, the afternoon and after dark. Then hold it against your skirting, doors and units.

Once you have chosen
The calculator on every product page works out how many packs your room takes. You will also need underlay unless the floor is bonded down, beading around the perimeter, threshold profiles at doorways, and adhesive for patterned and tongue and groove floors.
Order the full quantity in one go. Shade varies slightly between production batches, so topping up later is the most common cause of a visible mismatch.

Which floor should I choose?
Start with the room. Underfloor heating points to engineered oak, vinyl or laminate. A bathroom or utility room points to vinyl. Heavy traffic points to a thicker wear layer. Then choose on looks.
How much flooring do I need?
Floor area, plus 10% for plank layouts or 15% for patterned ones, divided by the pack coverage and rounded up to whole packs. The calculator on every product page does it for you.
Are the samples really free?
Yes, including delivery, with no obligation to order.
How long does delivery take?
Next-day on orders placed before 12pm, and free on orders over £500. Delivery is kerbside or driveway, so plan for moving the packs indoors yourself.
Can I fit it myself?
Click-system floors are designed for competent DIY fitting. Tongue and groove, solid oak and patterned layouts are usually bonded down and better suited to an experienced fitter. The joining method is listed on every product page.
What warranty do you offer?
A 25-year structural warranty on every floor. Fitting outside the manufacturer's instructions can affect it, so read the guidance supplied with your floor.
